What does GBdirect’s Free Lifetime Support Involve?
If you come on a course covered by our free lifetime support, we will endeavour to answer any questions that you might have about the contents of the course, forever and without charge.
The availability of free lifetime support is signalled by the presence of a blue ‘Free Lifetime Support’ icon and link at the top of the individual course outline page.
If you find that you want to take advantage of this support, please contact us at training@gbdirect.co.uk, providing as much background information as possible about your problem and its symptoms, including code samples, screenshots, etc., where appropriate.
Obviously, an entirely free service like this can only be provided only on a ‘best efforts’ basis (e.g., you may occassionally have to wait if the relevant specialist is unavailable), but most queries are answered in a timely and complete fashion.

A 'public' course is, quite simply, a course whose places (‘seats’ in the jargon) are open to members of the public.
For this reason, you may also hear such courses referred to as 'open' courses, although the term 'public course' is much more common in the commercial training industry.
Public courses typically run in specified locations to a published schedule, although many companies, including ourselves, will offer public courses with flexible locations and dates for low volume course titles.
A GBdirect course is 'public' if there is an icon and label at the top of the course description saying 'Open Public Course', and if the relevant webpage contains a schedule just above the outline course contents.

The training industry typically divides course delivery into ‘in-house’ and ‘public’ categories.
An in-house course is essentially one that is put on for a particular organisation, company or group.
This type of course may also be called a ‘closed course’ to distinguish it from those which members of the public can book seats on.
In-house courses may delivered ‘on-site’ (i.e. at the purchasing organisation’s own premises) or ‘off-site’ at another location, e.g. a specialist training centre, conference centre or hotel. Most in-house courses fall into the on-site sub-category.
A GBdirect course is available for in-house delivery if there is an icon and label at the top of the course description saying ‘Closed In-House Course’. The absence of any scheduling information from the page usually indicates that the course is only available on an an in-house basis. There are exceptions (e.g. when a previously in-house only course is just about to be offered to publicly), so please contact us if you are not completely sure.
